YouTwitFace: the legal business of being creative online

This seminar will look at some of the major legal issues artists face when sharing and creating art in the digital world, including copyright, licensing, defamation, privacy, and why you should always read (or have) a website's terms and conditions.
 
Speakers include:
  • Ian McDonald, intellectual property law specialist and consultant, and former senior legal officer of the Australia Copyright Council.
  • Jo Teng, Arts Law solicitor and masters of law graduate from the University of New South Wales specialising in intellectual property law particularly in the digital realm.
  • Yiying Lu, graphic designer of the "Fail Whale" illustration that has become iconic with social networking service Twitter.
