youMove is a professional company for emerging elite contemporary dance artists in their first five years of career development and is led by Artistic Director, Kay Armstrong, renowned independent artist and 2004 Robert Helpmann recipient. The company is based in Western Sydney with activities extending across Sydney and Australia.
Simulating as close to possible a company structure and dancer experience youMove closes the gap between post full-time dance training and /or tertiary training and a professional dance career.
youMove provides its members with free training high quality mentorship from an award winning mid career artist, diverse and performance experience, robust and consistent studio practice, professional CV credits, choreographic opportunities, industry networking and employment opportunities.
Members must join for a minimum of one year.
Who is youMove for?
Emerging dance artists who intend to pursue contemporary dance as a career – defined by sole income coming from dance related employment. Members must be between 18-26 yrs and completed a tertiary dance degree and /or equivalent full-time dance training.
