Update on National Dance Qualifications
The process for developing national vocational qualifications in dance is underway. Verve – Knowledge & Skills is managing the project on behalf of Innovation & Business Skills Australia (IBSA) and consulting with Australia’s diverse dance industry. In December 2009, we released a discussion paper outlining draft qualifications and skill sets and we are calling for the dance industry to provide feedback. The deadline for feedback is 12 March 2010.
Following this, there will be future opportunities for providing feedback on additional drafts.
Upcoming milestones include:
Development of draft units of competency (April-May 2010)
Refinement of all draft materials (qualifications, skill sets and units) to incorporate feedback from industry and training providers (May-July 2010)
Submission of final qualifications and skill sets to the National Quality Council for endorsement (August 2010)
