Join an exciting movement in Surry Hills, where Charemaine Seet teaches a brand of contemporary dance new to Sydney. After working with NYC Visionary Doug Elkins and performing with London's Union Dance, Charemaine is unleashing her own style: an ultramodern fusion of Capoeira, yoga, contact, Tai Chi, Cunningham, hip hop, ballet.
Charemaine was part of the choreographic force that created the daring piece Dance Tek Warriors for Union Dance. Achieving legendary status in London (the piece is even being taught as part of the official high school GCSE syllabus in the UK), Charemaine has taken the Dance Tek philosophy and her own moves to Sydney.
At Surry Dance, students from beginners to professionals, gain exciting new dance skills in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Develop the physics of postmodern partnering. Learn techniques to move from a pirouette to a b-boy freeze. Ginga and jete to Bach and Bollywood. Classes are held on the sprung wooden floors of the Surry Hills Community Centre.
