As the study and work year winds down, NIDA is revving up with a summer packed full of short courses for creative adults, offered through NIDA Open Program.
This summer, NIDA will offer courses in acting, dramatic writing, design and production, presenting, filmmaking, and directing for film and TV – all run by industry professionals. There is something to bring out every person’s creative potential, from beginners to the experienced.
For 50 years, NIDA has been a driving force in the growth and development of Australia’s creative industry. NIDA Open Program offers the opportunity for all to taste NIDA’s world class training. The professional tutors are committed to extending and developing creative skills and giving participants an insight into careers in the entertainment industry.
Head of NIDA Open Program Mark Gaal says “You get the best possible tutors over the Summer period. Many are part of our regular teaching staff and we also invite guest specialists from the art and entertaining industries. We’re often told that the experiences we provide benefit many areas of people’s lives: developing specific talents, assisting with communication skills and building confidence.”
Highlights include:
NIDA Studios: Work with industry experts within a highly motivated group and extend your skills in Acting, Music Theatre, TV Presenting, Directing or Writing over a 2, 3 or 4 week period.
NIDA Acting Techniques: Develop essential skills and learn how to act with ease.
Short Film Making @ Cockatoo Island: Collaborate, devise and shoot a short film on location.
TV Presenting: Discover your screen presence as a presenter for lifestyle, reality and chat shows.
Scriptwriting for Film & TV: Learn about format and writing styles from feature films to sit coms and soaps.
