Ros Warby: 1 Sept 10am-12pm
LEVEL: Intermediate – Advanced

Led by renowned dancer and choreographer, Ros Warby, this session will encourage participants to eliminate attachment to prescribed techniques or choreographic approaches, inviting the body to undo any pre-conceived notions of what dance is. Thereby creating a chance for the dancer to express a complex and indefinable range of experience through the humour, intelligence and emotional engagement of the dancing body. This work challenges the dancer to wake up and notice what it is they are doing in their dance. This shift in attention aims to stimulate the intelligence of the dancer, and, in turn, elevate their level of engagement in both performance and dance making.
Alain Platel & Les Ballets C de la B : 2 Sept 10am-1pm

Gain an insight into the making of Belgium’s Les Ballets C de la B, in this Q&A with director Alain Platel.
Les Ballets C de la B offers a unique mixture of artistic visions. From a unique universe, where "the sordid and the magnificent, the public and the intimate, tenderness and irony, violence and vulnerability intertwine in a unique blend of the trivial and the sacred, the grotesque and the sublime" (Adolphe JM)
In this 3 hour Q&A, Alain Platel will explain what made the ‘style’ of Les Ballets C de la B; a popular style, anarchic, eclectic and committed, under the motto: "This dance is part of the world and the world belongs to everyone."
He will also give an insight in the making processes of his own work, accompanied by video materials. (Participants are requested to have seen the work Out of Context – for Pina).
Known for making intelligent dance-theatre work for children, Fevered Sleep will lead a choreography focused workshop exploring themes of landscapes, space and perspective – with the aim to create work that engages with and inspires young audiences.
Antony Hamilton & Byron Perry: 26 Aug 12-2pm

LEVEL: PROFESSIONAL/GRADUATE

Perry and Hamilton’s collaborative work often revolves around their common love of the juvenile, the absurd. This workshop will reveal aspects of the methodology used to create their work, I Like This (commissioned and presented by Chunky Move), and invites participants to explore their own sense of humour and play with improvisational tasks, both physical and verbal.
