Following a knockout 2009 festival, SHORT SWEET+DANCE returns March 30 - April 17 for a stellar three week season showcasing the work of over 35 Australian and international choreographers and featuring many established and emerging professional dance artists.

The 2010 festival introduces an exciting partnership between Short+Sweet and Western Sydney Dance Action (WSDA), who together will produce Short Sweet+Dance with presenting partners Riverside Theatres Parramatta and the Parade Theatres Kensington.
Over three weeks, varying styles of dance and dance theatre will be presented, incorporating everything from contemporary, physical theatre, flamenco, burlesque, circus arts, lyrical, neo classical, and street dance – something to suit every taste!
Short Sweet+Dance is part of the ever expanding Short+Sweet family which produces theatre, dance, music and comedy (including youth festivals) throughout Australia and internationally. SS+D provides a much-needed platform for choreographers and dancers to experiment with new ideas, concepts and movement - an opportunity that both unearths emerging talent and creates new audiences for dance.
This year’s line-up features works about everything from Snakes & Ladders, high society of the 1800’s, sleep-walking, escapes from reality, living in a burlesque underworld, cigarettes - and how to quit them - giftwrapping, dinner parties, empty rooms, women that are half bird and half sheila, sisterly love/hate… and making music with velcro!
