NIDA’s Summer Holiday Courses for young people

NIDA’s Summer Holiday Courses for young people are back from 6 December – 28 January.

NIDA’s Summer Holiday courses offer diverse opportunities for young people to experience everything from directing a spooky vampire film or presenting their own ‘NIDA Chef’ cooking show, to going back in time as a character in Doctor Who. There’s something for everyone from 2 years old, up to primary school and high school ages, including HSC students.

Courses run on weekdays and weekends throughout the holidays from 6 December – 28 January, 2011

Courses are held at NIDA, around Sydney and Western Sydney, and at exciting locations Cockatoo Island, Vaucluse House and the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Featured: NIDA and BBC Worldwide have joined forces to offer young people the opportunity to act in their own Doctor Who episode, write a new thrilling script for the show, design an out-of-this-world alien landscape, or make their own film on location at Cockatoo Island.

Other highlights include:

“NIDA’s training is practical with a focus on the potential of each individual student” says Mark Gaal, Head of NIDA Open Program. ”While activities are educational and develop specific skills, we’re thrilled that feedback is often to do with how much the course has been a completely enjoyable and exciting experience.”
