THE DRILL (see map below)
Sir David Martin Reserve,
1c New Beach Road
Rushcutters Ba
We hope you will join us during this one-hour exploration of 'performance-as-research'. Please feel free to come and go as you please at any stage during the hour. And please, do stay for a discussion afterwards!
The performance builds directly on a 3-day research lab supported by CRITICAL PATH. A group of performers, some of whom have never worked together, have come together over an intricately structured three-day process with a special focus on 'Composition'. It is an opportunity to explore the nature of improvisation and to generate a forum of dialogue, exchange and discussion around strategies and processes of improvisation between performers from different generations, backgrounds and traditions. The process is facilitated by Tess de Quincey in collaboration with Martin del Amo and builds on previous Impro-Exchange labs in 2006, 2007 and 2009. It is the third lab in 2010.
This laboratory is supported by CRITICAL PATH with assistance from Arts NSW and the from the Australia Council for the Arts.
