AUSTRALIA COUNCIL GRANTS FOR INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE TOURING
Dear colleagues
The Australia Council has reviewed its support for international touring activity for the performing arts and will provide support through two main channels for the next 3 years –
1. Theatre and dance boards have provided three-year support for international activities to selected companies through their key organisations grant category.
2. Market development has launched a new program Going Global - an international touring fund, to respond to one-offs and international tours.
This structure is intended to streamline the process, consolidate resources between theatre, dance and market development and respond more effectively to the needs of companies working in the international arena. These two channels will replace Playing the World, Dance International Market Development Strategy (DIMDS) as well as project support available for tours resulting from the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM).
Playing the World will have one final round with a closing date of 3 December 2008 before rolling into the new Going Global program. As of 1 January 2009, market development will accept applications for Going Global to support international tours and performances. There are no deadlines for this fund.
