ReelDance in association with Performance Space presents the 6th ReelDance International Dance on Screen Festival. Including international highlights: Eve Sussman and the Rufus Corporation’s The Rape of the Sabine Women, “The breakout hit of the Whitney Biennial, it stretches its beauty before us with overindulged, seductive feline opulence” - The New York Times. The Imaginings of Shelly Love, a retrospective celebrating the work of Festival guest UK artist Shelly Love. Shelly Love’s work has been described as “Otherworldy”, “Surprising”, “Magical”, “Beautifully dark” and “Uniquely choreographic”. Launch of new Indigenous initiative Send out The Cameras. The festival concludes with the top eight local dance films for 2010 in the Australia and New Zealand Award night.

These two programs feature international dance on screen shorts from around the globe. A unique and varied selection of shorts spanning the deadly serious to the highly whimsical, travelling to us from countries including South Africa, Finland, Mexico, New Zealand, China, Germany, Argentina, USA and UK. Featured artists include Cai Fei, Back to Back, Daniel Belton, Dance North, Ballet Russes and UK artist Tim Shore.
