2010| Dean Walsh choreographic and performance workshop - Architecture and Meaning
This workshop will focus on the architecture and potential meaning within movement phrases and passages - how and why we move in context to composing content-specific dance. "How am I moving in order to say what, exactly?" In days one and two, utilizing some very specific and intricate technical scores we'll compose a number of solo, duet and group configurations, embellish & distill them, discussing possible readings within emotional and psychological frames. On day three we'll work with specific tasks that hone meaning and discuss choreographic variables that can help steer your particular ideas towards performance clarity.
