Dance Space Strategy

In 2006-07 Ausdance NSW investigated further opportunities to assist the critical issue of affordable and appropriate dance rehearsal space in Sydney & Western Sydney. A feedback survey was conducted in regards to what dance artists required a dance space for and how they would require the studio time to be structured.  Following the survey and further research Ausdance NSW was successful in an application the the City of Sydney Cultural Grant and Sponsorship program, receiving a grant to present Ausdance NSW's inaugural Dance Space Residency Program 2008

Ausdance continues to investigate further opportunities to assist in finding appropriate dance space for local dance artists.

As a member of the dance community you can assist us in achieving immediate and long term strategies in securing dance rehearsal and development facilities in Sydney & Western Sydney.  Ausdance NSW is continuing to collate the statistics received on the number of dance practitioners requiring space and specific requirements for dance rehearsal, development and production space facilities. Our aim is to receive and collate further responses from the dance sector to assist us in our ongoing lobbying and advocacy campaign for the provision of additional Dance Space in Sydney and Western Sydney. Please support us by taking this short amount of time to provide us with these vital statistics on your dance space requirements. Thank you to all the practitioners who recently responded to the Dance Space questionnaire, we appreciate your contribution and thank you for taking the time to do so.
