Ausdance NSW invites dance teachers from the education sector or private studios, to nominate their most talented students for an Australian Youth Dance Festival 2012 dance scholarship.

Winners receive full registration tuition to take part in a 7-day intensive training and performance experience with ten leading Australian choreographers.

Ten scholarships will be awarded nationwide, bringing together the best of Australia’s future professional dancers.

To nominate your student all you need to do is send us a link to a Youtube video, telling us why you think your student should come to AYDF 2012.

 
Dance Australia is awarding a 12-month magazine subscription to all 10 AYDF 2012 scholarship winners!

What to do?

Create a short video for your submission

1-2 minutes maximum

Can be shot on your iPhone, iPad or digital camera

It is the content that matters not the quality

Upload video to youtube or vimeo

Email the video link to projects@dance.net.au

Include details in body of email; name, studio/school, dancer, age, contact number

Applicants will be judged by a small industry panel of dance professionals

Breakdown of footage

1.        30 seconds – 1minute

·         Teacher introduces dancer and tells us why the dancer should be the AYDF scholarship representative of their studio/school

·         What qualities makes this student a potential recipient

·         What positive attributes as a dancer, artist and leader will they bring to festival

2.          30 seconds – 1minute

·         Dancer introduces herself

·         Dancer demonstrates 30seconds of favourite choreography/style/skill

You will be prompted to fill out description and category

Choose to publish public

Allow time for the video to be visibleonline

Click on the url and copy into body of email

Include details in body of email; teachers name, studio/school, contact number, dancers name and age

Please note this is a fun entry and you will not be critiqued on the quality of the filming, no editing is required. Shooting in the dance studio is more than suitable and dancers can wear rehearsal attire.

Winners must be available to attend the whole program.
