Audition for a Part-time course at NIDA
27 and 28 November 2010
If you’ve been thinking about growing your creative potential and are highly dedicated, then think about applying for one of NIDA’s accredited or non-accredited year-long and half-year courses.
Auditions for the 2011 Part-time intake are looming, but it’s not too late to apply for a place in one of 24 highly renowned Part-time courses, all taught by experienced industry professionals.
Aimed at developing the skills of performers, directors, film makers, designers and event managers, the highly renowned NIDA Part-time courses are taught by industry professionals.
Mary-Anne Gifford, Manager Part Time Courses, NIDA Open Program said “A part-time course at NIDA not only develops your performance skills, it gives you access to the resources of one of the world’s most recognised drama schools. You are tutored by experienced industry professionals and you have the opportunity to build your own network of friends and colleagues over a sustained period of study.”
Courses take place on weekends and/or evenings, so they are ideal for adults and young adults who work or study but want regular comprehensive skills development.
The main round of auditions for Part-time places will begin 27 and 28 November in Sydney. Some auditions are being held interstate. See www.nida.edu.au for details.
Part-time graduates are finding success in the industry. Two actors who are about to graduate from The Screen Actor course are available for interview:
Louis Mcintosh: Louis has been driving to Sydney from Goulburn each Saturday to attend the Screen Actor course. He was recently offered representation by an agent and has started auditioning. He plans to continue his training at NIDA in 2011 and see what opportunities arise.
Paige Houden: Before Paige came to NIDA she had appeared in TV shows and commercials including Blue Water High and Home and Away. Recently, she has landed a lead role in the new television series Lighting Point which is being filmed on the Gold Coast and will be screened on Channel 10.
