The Arts Law Centre of Australia (Arts Law), with the support of the City of Sydney is presenting Arts Law Week Sydney 2008, a series of free seminars and workshops for Sydney based artists, arts organisations and other creative people.
Arts Law legal staff, together with Sydney entertainment lawyers and arts professionals, will deliver mostly free events for artists and organisations to gain skills and knowledge critical to the practice of their art.
March 31 - April 5, 2008
Proposed seminars & artists include:
· Being in a band: legal session for musicians
· Protecting Indigenous Cultural Heritage & Art
· Running Your Arts Business: copyright and protecting your name
· Legal issues for filmmakers
· Employment issues
· Arts and technology: what you can and can’t do!
· Freedom of expression
· Festival and arts events: for artists and organisers
· Intellectual property for community and not for profit organisations
Most sessions will be at the Rex Centre (Kings Cross), and are free.
